Menopause and menstruation friendly employer awards 2025

For the very first time, menstruation has been included in the prestigious Menopause and Menstruation Friendly Employer Awards – recognising the growing number of organisations who are leading the way in both areas of women’s health.

It’s easy to see why. Menstruation and menstrual health have a huge impact in the workplace:

  • An estimated 15 million women menstruate in the UK, with 72% in work (ONS)
  • Employees lose an average of 8.4 days of productivity per year due to menstrual health
  • 13.8% report absence during their period
  • 1 in 4 say their career has been impacted by menstruation

When workplaces support colleagues with practical steps, the benefits are clear – improved performance, increased productivity, better engagement, and stronger employee wellbeing.

A milestone moment

The 2025 Menopause and Menstruation Friendly Employer Awards mark a milestone in recognising employers who are breaking taboos and taking meaningful action on menstruation at work.

This year’s Awards attracted a record number of entries, with employers from across the UK public and private sectors – from high street banks to local councils, charities to NHS Trusts.

For the first time, the Awards will take place in a daytime format, bringing together inspirational speakers, practical panels and community networking. Three regional events in Nottingham, London and Liverpool will announce the winners simultaneously on Wednesday 24 September 2025.

Celebrating commitment

Judged by an independent panel, the Awards honour organisations and individuals who are showing real evidence of change: providing support, solutions and resources that normalise menstruation and menopause in the workplace.

“This year’s awards have seen more entries than ever and an absolutely outstanding quality of work,” says Deborah Garlick, CEO of Menopause Friendly by Henpicked.

“The passion and determination of our members shines through their efforts while the impact of their work is genuinely life-changing for their colleagues and communities.”

Generous support

The Awards also raise vital funds for charities, programmes and research linked to menopause and menstruation. Since its inception, the event has raised £190,000, with 2025 expected to take this to £230,000.

Headline sponsor Peppy is joined by Boots and No7 Beauty Company, British Airways, Mars, QVC, Standard Chartered and Menopace by Vitabiotics, with support from BSI, CIPD, SOM and The Gym Group.
